„Padlým a zemřelým hrdinům - světové války - Červený kříž ve Strakonicích“

The creator of this monument was sculptor Jan Vítězslav Dušek from Tábor (1891-1966). The monument, a 270 cm high statue of a young man taking a step forward, made from sandstone on a granite pedestal, was unveiled in 1958 at the initiative of the Union of Fighters against Fascism. During the reconstruction in 2006 the surrounding park was redeveloped, and the accompanying text was modified, as it did not correspond to the true historical context.

In 1924 the voluntary firemen's brigade started to collect money for a monument to commemorate citizens who fell in WWI. The unveiling ceremony took place in 1926.
